We meet every day at Piazza Venezia in the very centre. Our guide will be holding an yellowish umbrella with angels on it.
The Jewish Community has been present since the time of the Romans and continues to thrive in Rome. This relatively unknown section of Rome has some of the richest history in it including a Roman, Medieval, and Modern point of view.
Our guide will take you through the Ghetto explaining the history behind it recommending all the different places to eat. Starting at Piazza Venezia we walk towards several different Ancient Roman Monuments which have ties to the Jewish Community. We will also discuss the history and politics of the Jewish Ghetto, which was made in the 16th century which forced the Jews to live in cramped areas until it was demolished in the 19th century.
You also learn the history of the Jewish community during World War II under Mussolini seeing the Synagogue of the Ghetto and conclude the tour in beautiful Trastevere where you will see one of Rome's most authentic neighbourhoods and their cafés and churches. You'll broaden your experience of Rome with a visit to areas most tourists don't visit.
