Both sites can be toured in combination with highlights of the city centre, or in a full day tour! Unfortunately you are not allowed to take pictures inside the Uffizi and Accademia Gallery.
A tour in your own interest and pace
The Accademia is a small space, as long as it isn't packed with tourists you will love it, you will discover the larger-than-life David.
The gallery also houses an interesting (if small) collection of ancient Roman sculptures and medieval paintings.
Next to the Uffizi, the Accademia has some of the worst lines in all of Florence, and reservations are particularly recommended in the spring and summer months when the wait can become especially mind-numbing.
Angel Tours can provide you with a reservation, allowing you to bypass the general public line.
On a 3 hours tour you could combine the visit of the Accademia with more higlights of the city and, highly recommended, Santa Croce (burial place of Michelangelo, Dante, Galileo, ...)
or escape from the heat and continue with the Uffizi
Our Angel Guide will reveal to you art of the Uffizi which originally consisted solely of the Medici family's private collection but has grown to include over four centuries of art from the city that was the cradle of the Renaissance.
This most famous of the Florentine museums is, unfortunately, also the site of Italy's most infamous lines, don’t worry we will skip these lines too.
If you like to visit both, the Uffizi and the Accademi in a row, calculate a 4 hours tour with one of our guides! Of course we'll give you time for some gelato on the way from one museum to another if you like.
If you have time go for a full day tour
The tour could start with a visit of the Uffizi with paintings of Renaissance artists, then a stroll around Piazza Signoria which is like a museum in the open air and walk along side the river to the medieval bridge Ponte Vecchio with all its workshops on it. After a lunch break we would walk along side the Piazza Repubblica, explaining the Roman origins of Florence still to be seen in the infrastructure around the square, then continue with the cathedral complex, with an explanation of the baptistery and the cathedral, giving special attention to the famous dome of the cathedral of the renaissance architect Filippo Brunelleschi. The Accademia will be out last stop of that tour and you will be amazed seeing scuptures of Michelangelo, escpecially his David.
Again besides our Heart of Florence City Walk we only run private tours for 2014 so do get in touch for prices and times.
You're not allowed to take pictures in the Uffizi or Accademia Gallery, but of course of Michelangelo's copy of David at Piazza della Signora.
We would make a reservation for the Uffizi and Accademia in advance, the ticket prices vary between 10.50 Euro and 15 Euro, per person per museum, depending on temporary exhibitions taking place at that time. You can use the Firenze Card on our toursor pay for you tickets on the spot.
Please notice that admission fees are subject to change.
The tour can start at a time that suits you best, usually the museums are more crowded in the morning compared to the afternoon hours.
Mondays the national museums are closed, we can of course still provide you a tour of the city and have more options available of sights you might not have heard of but are well worth to see - get in touch!
Coming from the Cruise ships
If your cruise ship docks in Livorno or La Spezia we can put you in touch with our English speaking driver Fabrizio to pick you up and bring you to Florence, including a stop in Pisa if you like. Or you take the train, it's easy.
In Florence meet one of our guides for a 3 or 4 hours private tour to show you the highlights in the short time you have. You can even skip all the museums and spend your day at the Mercato Centrale eating fresh pasta, bruschetta and all types of gelato lol
